When it comes to Instagram hot spots, Tahoe South has quite a few you’d be proud to feature! Whether you’re looking for colorful vistas, or a signature Tahoe splash of blue, we share top places to explore for that perfect shot. Here are our selections for the best photo locations in Lake Tahoe:

Emerald Bay

One of the most iconic spots in Tahoe South is Emerald Bay. Its beautiful, calm waters attract viewers every day. With several trails down to the shoreline, or up to higher elevation, you can create exactly the right photo.

While in the Emerald Bay area, be sure to explore a few of the surrounding lakes and water falls within a few miles distance from the bay. Each small lake offers something different. One popular Insta-spot is Fallen Leaf Lake, a more secluded lake than Tahoe. Discover bridges, docks, and streams in the area or saddle up to the crystal-clear shores for an iconic shot of Mt. Tallac, which resides on Fallen Leaf’s shores.

Eagle Lake

Another Instagrammable spot in Tahoe is Eagle Lake. Nestled high in the mountains, the trail to this lake offers scenic views, rock stair cases, and magnificent water falls along the way. There are several spots to admire the area and, of course, take a few snaps for your social media.

Cave Rock

Tahoe South has several unique rock faces, including Cave Rock, located along Highway 50 on the Nevada side of the South Shore. The rock, which houses two tunnels, sits directly on the lake and referred to as the “Lady of the Lake” for the rock’s distinctive profile that resembles a woman’s face. In addition to giving good face, this is also a popular spot for its unique vantage for sunset when the lake is bathed in warm, colorful light.

The Ridge Resorts

Fortunately for guests of the Ridge, there are Instagram-worthy spots right outside your door! Since the Ridge Tahoe is nestled in the Sierra, there is an amazing view at almost every corner of the resort’s property. Get cozy in the hot tubs or relax in a pool chair overlooking the Carson Valley or even the lake. Sunset is a favorite time to visit these spots because the clouds regularly light up in different colors.

With many areas to visit, we hope this guide can bring some ideas spark adventure during your stay at the Ridge. Do you agree with our list of best photo locations in Lake Tahoe? Don’t forget to tag us in your posts!
