Time to Get Spooky in Tahoe

Halloween is next Tuesday, but the festivities kick into high gear this weekend. The streets of Taoe will be full of ghouls, goblins and more with Halloween events starting this Friday and continuing through Tuesday. Plan your attack with our quick guide to Halloween happening below.

Freakers Ball
By far one of the largest and most popular Halloween events is the Freakers Ball at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. This event invites attendees to get a little wicked on Oct. 28 with the 39th annual party that includes not one, but three parties in one location. This event includes go-go dancers, DJs, live music and drink specials that start at 8 p.m. and continue until the early morning hours. If you’re going all out on your Halloween costume this year, we recommend checking out this party for your chance at a share of $10,000 in cash and prizes.

Halloween Bash
The Loft, one of the coolest spots in South Lake Tahoe for a drink and a magic show, is hosting its second annual Halloween Bash on Oct. 28. Festivities include scary movies in the Loft’s theatre and Live Deep House DJ spinning house music until 2:00 am. The Loft will give away $1,000 in prizes for the best costumes of the night and attendees will also enjoy dinner and cocktails.

Rockin’ Dead Halloween Bash
The 3rd annual Rockin’ Dead Halloween Bash at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will feature a DJ and a costume contest with $5,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs on Oct. 27. Those who are 21 and older are encouraged to wear their scariest costumes for a chance to win these prizes and swag for various categories including most realistic costume, most original costume and more. Bash entry is $10 per person.

Peek a Boo Masquerade Ball at Peek Nightclub
Don your spookiest outfit and attend the Masquerade Ball at Peek Nightclub inside of Harrah’s Lake Tahoe. This Halloween celebration goes from 10:30 p.m. until 4:30 a.m. so make sure that you have your dancing shoes on for an all-night extravaganza! $10 for women and $20 for men.

The Peek a Boo Masquerade is preceded by the South Lake Tahoe Food & Wine Festival, Oct. 27 through Oct. 29.

Treat Street
Treat Street is a safe environment in which trick-or-treaters and their families can visit local businesses and non-profits for candy and gifts.  This year’s Treat Street is held at the Lake Tahoe Community College from 5 to 8 p.m. on Halloween. This free event will include hot cocoa, popcorn, s’mores and pizza, as well as a mad scientist laboratory, a fortune teller and a haunted house.
