Make the Most of Thanksgiving When Traveling
Regardless if you are traveling for business or for pleasure, it can be hard to be away from home during the holidays. If you find yourself in Tahoe this Thanksgiving, gobble up these tips to make Turkey Day even better than being at home!
Leave the Cooking to the Pros
The Ridge Tahoe’s on-site restaurant the Hungry Bear Restaurant will host Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 23 from 3:30 to 7 p.m.
The dinner begins with the first course of roasted butternut squash soup served in a festive baby pumpkin with crab and celery root salad. This is followed by a choice of the classic honey maple glazed roast turkey served with cornbread sausage stuffing, gravy, whipped potatoes, Brussel sprouts and citrus cranberry relish; pan-roasted Alaskan halibut with shrimp, yam hash, and a saffron tomato sauce; or a slow roasted prime rib served with grilled asparagus, twice baked sweet potato cake, au jus and creamy horseradish. The meal is perfectly ended with a homemade pumpkin pie topped with caramel sauce, vanilla whipped cream, and seasonal berries.
Dinner is $45 for adults and $17.95 for children. A children’s menu is available. Call the concierge at extension 3150 for reservations.

Hit the Slopes
This may not be a holiday tradition back home, but here in Tahoe, it is customary to take a few laps before sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner. Several Lake Tahoe ski resorts will be open for the holiday, including Heavenly and Kirkwood, the latter which will open the day before Thanksgiving.
