The temperature is dipping, and snow is in the forecast. Though autumn won’t officially end until December 21, it sure feels like winter is here with the arrival of November. Help send off fall and welcome what we hope is a wonderful winter with these November events in Lake Tahoe!
Opening Ski Resorts
Nothing signals the beginning of the winter season like the openings of our favorite local mountains! All mountains have been able to begin making snow, and as temperatures continue to drop, more terrain will open to skiers and riders. Mt Rose Ski Tahoe took the title of “first Tahoe resort opening” this season, and is now open weekends. Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California are projected to open on Nov. 16 (weather permitting) with Kirkwood Mountain Resort and Squaw Valley / Alpine Meadows not far behind. Sugar Bowl is projected for a Nov. 30 opening. Keep your eyes on Sierra-at-Tahoe for more information about their opening date.

Tahoe Donner, Homewood and other ski resorts in the area are projected to open in December.
Tahoe has a lively music scene and November is no exception. Dance the night away with Todd Rundgren, performing at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe on November 17. Or sing along with a tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr at MontBleu Resort Casino on November 17, or enjoy True Willie: A Salute to Willie Nelson at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa on November 24. Don’t miss the return of Abbacadabra – The Ultimate ABBA Concert at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe on November 23 and 24.

Gather ‘round as we light the monstrous 45’ tall highly decorated cut fir tree, daily at 7:00 pm beginning November 23, 2018. The kickoff ceremony November 23, 2018, will include caroling and fun for all!
The Annual Valhalla Holiday Faire is November 16-18 and the perfect opportunity to get a jumpstart on holiday shopping. 30 local vendors will sell their crafts and artisanal goods while families can enjoy Christmas decorations in the historic Valhalla Tahoe.
