Sizzling End of Summer Events

Many are beginning to wind down and out of summer mode to get ready for the upcoming school year, but that’s not the case with Tahoe South! With a full menu of events and recreation, we’re not saying goodbye to the warm summer months just yet. Fortunately, these events are close to the Ridge Tahoe and most are just an easy ride away on our complimentary shuttle. Let the fun begin!

Starting this weekend, singer/songwriter Jack Johnson will perform for the first time since 2014 at Harvey’s Outdoor Arena. He is famous for his soothing, island jams like “Banana Pancakes” and “Upside Down.”

Continuing with the summer jams, this week also presents two of the South Shore’s favorite summer concert series at Lakeview Commons and Heavenly Village. On Thursday, July 27, Live at Lakeview hosts their free concert on the beach, where locals and visitors gather to listen to an array of music while watching the sun set on picturesque Lake Tahoe.

The Heavenly Village Concert Series begins at 5 p.m. July 28-29. This concert is conveniently located in the middle of the Heavenly Village. This family-friendly event is free.

Get your fitness in and get a taste of some of Lake Tahoe’s best breweries at Kirkwood Bikes & Brews. This event at Kirkwood Resort offers mountain bike riding for people of all ages, as well music and brew tasting. There will be a shuttle available with pickups and drop offs at MontBleu Resort. The event supports the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association.

On Aug. 7, a full moon kayak tour is offered to individuals of all ages to kayak along the shores of Sugar Pine Point State Park. The tour will take place between the highest elevation operational lighthouse in the U.S. to the park’s southern boundary overlooking Meeks Bay. State Park staff will provide insight into the region’s cultural and natural history under the light of a full moon.

Throughout the month of August, there are several events taking place during the Valhalla Art, Music & Theater Festival, including performances by Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore (Aug. 2), Heartbreak On The Dance Floor (Aug. 9), Lisa Lynne & Aryeh Frankenfurter (Aug. 23), and Laura Love (Aug. 30).

With all these events and activities, it’s hard to be bored in Tahoe. There are more events to come in the next few weeks. Don’t miss out by booking your room at the Ridge Tahoe now.
