Ridge Tahoe welcomes the holidays with ample snow and events
Hearty helpings of holiday cheer surround The Ridge Tahoe this December, thanks in part to Santa’s early delivery of blankets of fresh snow, paving the way to a winter wonderland of activities.
With Heavenly Mountain Resort adjacent to The Ridge, guests can be shuttled to Heavenly in less than 3 minutes in the the eight-passenger Hilltrac Skier Express, a self-operated, gondola-type car that transports skiers from the Resort to Heavenly’s Stagecoach Chairlift. The Ridge offers on-site ski rentals and tune-ups, apparel, gear and Heavenly lift tickets which is adjacent to the resort.
Returning from a day on the mountain, enjoy a light snack at The Ridge Club Deli, happy hour drink specials at the Bear Trap and dining at The Hungry Bear Restaurant.
There’s a 45,000 square-foot clubhouse with an indoor sports complex, full spa, heated swimming pool, hot tubs, indoor tennis, racquetball and basketball courts, athletic instructors, complimentary laundry facilities and full-service lounge. Guests can pamper themselves at the Elevation Spa which offers facials, massages, body treatments and rejuvenation packages from 60 minutes to 2.5 hours.

This Saturday, Dec. 14 is the 12th annual Tahoe Adventure Film Festival Saturday, Dec. 14 at MontBleu Resort, Casino & Spa. Rooted as the nerve center for skiers, boarders, climbers and year-round adventurers, the film festival provides mountaintops, cliffhangers and enough high-energy entertainment between showings. The night includes guest speakers, action photo displays, break-dancers, DJs and a handful of surprises.
The spirit of the season kicks into high gear with Heavenly Holidays, a two-week festival, Dec. 21-31 at Heavenly Village. The event features featuring caroling, live music, ice sculpting, magicians, jugglers, professional ice skaters, live ice sculpting, and Ripperoo Parades.
Sierra-at-Tahoe’s countdown to Christmas at the Plaza Deck includes a reading of “The Santa Genie,” by children’s author Anita E. Shepherd, live skits and Santa visits Dec. 21-22. DecemberFest beer and brats tasting at the 360 Smokehouse BBQ is Dec. 23 and Dec. 29-30 beginning at 11 a.m.
