2017 has flown by, so it should come as no surprise that the holidays are already upon us in Tahoe South. Regardless of what you’re celebrating this season, there are several festive activities occurring near the Ridge Tahoe that will surely have you feeling spirited!

Heavenly Holidays at the Heavenly Village
Running Dec. 18 through Dec. 31, Heavenly Holidays at the Heavenly Village includes many of the season’s classics: ice skating under twinkling lights, ice sculptures and a giant 16-foot snow globe with plenty of photo opportunities with Santa Claus himself. This two-week festival also includes holiday-themed happy hours for those 21 and older, DJs, live music and magicians.

Sierra Cinemas Movie Night
One Saturday each month, Sierra Cinemas comes to life at Lake Tahoe AleWorx, a family-friendly restaurant, and bar located at The Crossings. This outdoor movie screening will feature numerous films on Saturday, Dec. 23 including Passenger Ski film, “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and Dr. Seuss’s “The Grinch.” This evening’s event benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. Dress warmly, as this event is held outside among firepits.

Christmas Dinner at the Ridge
The Hungry Bear Restaurant, conveniently located on property at the Ridge Tahoe, will host Christmas dinner for those spending the holiday at the resort. From 3 to 7 p.m., dinner will be available $45 per person and $16.95 for children ages 3-11.

The first course will include a crab salad profiterole with micro greens and a pomegranate vinaigrette, then a second course that includes your choice of the following: roasted Chilean sea bass with warm leek and lentil salad, artichoke hearts, parsnips and roasted winter vegetable sauce; honey maple glazed roast turkey with cornbread sausage stuffing, mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and citrus cranberry relish; or slow roasted prime rib served with pancetta white bean ragout, asparagus and cauliflower with au jus and creamy horseradish. Dinner is capped with a yuletide log with eggnog pastry cream and peppermint bark.
