Gondola rides, concerts, art and car shows this Memorial Day weekend at Tahoe South
Memorial Day weekend adventure takes hold at Tahoe, with the unofficial beginning of summer. Check into a room of your choice for the long weekend and then check out the happenings around the lake.
The Heavenly Mountain Resort gondola will operate during Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday through Monday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Heavenly will offer sightseeing via the scenic Gondola ride and the mid-station observation deck, with limited hiking trails and dining options at Tamarack Lodge, Café Blue and Heavenly Donuts.
Heavenly will open for full seven-day-a-week summer operations beginning Friday, June 12, with the debut of the resort’s new four line Hot Shot Zip Line as well as the Discovery Forest Ropes Course and Boulder Cove Ropes Course, which opened in summer 2014. The Blue Streak Zip Line, Black Bear Ropes Course and summer tubing will open full-time on June 26, 2015.
Stick around Heavenly Village Friday through Monday for the Lake Tahoe Summer Kick Off Car & Bike Show. The event features trophies, poker run and sidewalk sales.

Holiday weekend entertainment at South Shore includes a Friday night party at Opal Ultra Lounge inside MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa; live music at Cabo Wabo Cantina at Harveys; rock bands at the new the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe; Live Music at Jimmy’s Inside The Landing; Comedy at The Improv at Harveys featuring comedians Tommy Savitt and Francis Dolorenzo, and the Lake Tahoe Club Crawl Saturday, May 23.
