Favorite Ways to Warm Up and Chill Out

Lake Tahoe is about dualities: the largest alpine lake in the country among mountain peaks reaching over 10,000 feet in elevation; world-class skiing and stunning sandy beaches in California and Nevada. The Ridge Tahoe is also about celebrating the best of both worlds, especially when on vacation. We’ve compiled a list of ways that guests can both chill out and warm up at the resort.

Chill: Skiing at Heavenly Mountain, which is right next door to the Ridge Tahoe. Resort guests have access to the Hilltrac Skier Express, which transports skiers and snowboarders from the property to Stagecoach Lodge for quick mountain access.

Warm: Can we get a hot tub? With ten hot tubs and Jacuzzis on property, guests can soothe muscles after a day of skiing, a romantic dip with a partner or a fitting ending to a relaxing Elevation Spa day.

Chill: Speaking of a spa day, there is no easier way to destress on property than at Elevation Spa. Among many options for facials and massages, the spa includes body treatments like the body glow exfoliating scrub that will smooth, polish and energize the skin.

Another option to chill out with is the Nurture-Me body wrap, which is customizable and selected for what will work best for the guest’s skin type. Every wrap begins with a light body brushing then a body masque of his or her choice, the warm up with a heated wrap over hydrating cream.

Warm: Things will heat up in the kitchen with Chef Stephen Moise provides a complimentary cooking demonstration Thursdays at 3 p.m. Located upstairs in the Club House, guests are able to watch a master at work as he demonstrates the various cooking techniques that make him such a Rockstar chef. No reservations are required, but space is limited for this event.

Chill:  What beats a good glass of wine at the end of the day? A wine tasting seminar with multiple amazing wines! The Ridge Tahoe hosts a wine tasting seminar Thursdays at 4 p.m. For $20 per person, come enjoy a selection of fine whites and reds to complement a perfect day. No reservations are required for this event.

Warm: For those that prefer a hotter experience at the spa, the warming hot stone massage includes polished Basalt lava stones that are heated up and used in a traditional Swedish massage. Muscles relax, and tension is released.

Chill: For the chillier spa crew, the Pamper-Me-Peppermint massage brings attention to legs and feet with a warmed Basalt Lava stone massage followed by cooling peppermint oil. Minty fresh!

Warm: Every good day begins with a hot cup of coffee or tea. For others, it’s a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs or waffles. Regardless of what gets the engine going, the Bistro is open seven days a week for meals on the lighter side.

Hot or cold, the Ridge Tahoe has everything visitors to Tahoe need to experience everything this unique region has to offer. Book a room now.
