Tahoe is gearing up for an eventful holiday weekend with a plethora of entertainment, recreation, and new food. For those staying at The Ridge Tahoe, these President’s Day Weekend events and activities are only minutes from your room.
Get outdoors during Ski with a Ranger at Heavenly Mountain Resort, Feb. 17. This hour-long ski-venture with a US Forest Service Ranger aims to educate the public about the role Forest Service plays in ski area management, as well as to improve individuals’ understanding of natural resources and stewardship. All participants must be intermediate skiers/boarders and provide their own lift ticket.
Another outdoor adventure option is located at Camp Richardson’s Beacon Bar & Grill on Feb. 18 with Snowshoe Cocktail Races. This race tests participants’ hand-eye coordination and balance as they meander through a snowy obstacle course while wearing snowshoes and carrying cocktails. Prizes are awarded for the fastest and cleanest at the finish line.
For a good cause – and a good time – the Head 2 Head Ski Challenge at Kirkwood Mountain hosts a race and dinner auction on Feb. 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All abilities and ages of skiers and boarders are welcome to compete in before an auction and dinner in the evening. Proceeds will benefit junior ski race programs.
Taste a different side of The Ridge Tahoe with two new menus at the Ridge Club Bistro and the Hungry Bear Restaurant. The Hungry Bear Restaurant now includes delicious pastas such as tortellini carbonara, wild mushroom ravioli, and shrimp Provencal, Asian pressed chicken thighs with pineapple ginger chile glaze, classics like beef tenderloin medallion and surf and turf, and new favorites like grilled Idaho River Trout and pan-seared Chilean Verlasso Salmon. View the full menu here.
For a less formal dining experience, the Ridge Club Bistro offers all of your favorites: seasonal soups, salads, sandwiches, nachos, and a children’s menu. Bonus: both the Hungry Bear Restaurant and the Ridge Club Bistro are located on-site at The Ridge Tahoe!

Unbuckle your boots, sip on some half-priced drinks and leave the kids at home for this new type of après ski.
Once you’re down from the mountain, choose from a number of late night options: Rock On! Live Band Karaoke at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Feb. 17; Disco night at the Loft Theater, Feb. 17; free Mark Mackay concert in Vinyl at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Feb. 18; Dark Star Orchestra at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Feb. 19; Sunday Night Music Session with the Heidi Incident!, Feb. 19; and Howie Nave and guest Joshua Mann at the Improv at Harveys through Feb. 19.
