A Day of Golf
What dad wouldn’t enjoy a round of 18, especially when it’s at a famous golf course like Edgewood Tahoe? Or at the mountain oasis that is Lake Tahoe Golf Course? The Ridge Tahoe is in close proximity to four courses in the South Shore, including the aforementioned, as well as Tahoe Paradise Golf Course and Bijou Municipal Golf Course. Additional courses in Carson Valley await you: Genoa Lakes offers two courses through the Lakes Course and the Resort Course and the Carson Valley Golf Course is only a short drive away in Gardnerville.
Adventure Aboard the V&T
Imagine meandering down the rails through the historic Carson Valley before snaking through the hillside to reach the Comstock-era boomtown of Virginia City. It’s a reality on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad with special Father’s Day Weekend rides for the entire family. The train departs from Carson City for a round trip and three-hour stopover in Virginia City. Tickets are currently only available for Sunday, June 19 so buy fast! This ride will sell out.

Take a Hike
Take in the fresh mountain air on one of any day hikes through the Sierra Nevada. A fairly easy and centrally located area is the Van Sickle Bi-State Park, which includes land in both California and Nevada. With picturesque views of Lake Tahoe and hikes for any experience level, Van Sickle is also located within walking distance to the Shops at Heavenly Village where you can treat dad to a tasty morsel after your trek.
Other recommended hikes include the Tahoe Rim Trail, which is easily accessible by Ridge Tahoe guests from their accommodations.
Cruise the Lake
The M.S. Dixie II offers a memorable experience for the whole family aboard its giant paddlewheel boat and departs daily from the Zephyr Cove Resort. The kids will be awestruck while on the sightseeing boat during the day, but you’ll want to leave ‘em at home for the Captain’s Dinner Cruise, a magnificent sunset ride through the inimitable Emerald Bay. While cutting through the waters you’ll experience delicious cuisine, delectable cocktails and dancing. Discounted tickets for the M.S. Dixie II are available in the Ridge Market Place.

Relax at The Ridge Tahoe
So if Dad really wants to take it easy, there’s no better place to hang out than the Ridge Tahoe! Hot tubs, heated swimming pools, a driving range, basketball courts, and of course great rooms with even more spectacular views await you this Father’s Day.
