As the unofficial start of summer begins, Memorial Day weekend activities fire up at The Ridge Tahoe.
Whether you plan on hiking, biking, hitting the beach, playing a round of golf or taking a sightseeing tour of Lake Tahoe aboard the M.S. Dixie II or Tahoe Queen there is plenty to do and see during your stay.
After a fun-filled winter season, Heavenly Mountain Resort will switch gears this holiday weekend to operate its famed Gondola for sightseeing, hiking, dining and family activities. The Gondola will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and The Ridge Tahoe front desk staff can assist you with shuttle service.
The Heavenly Gondola transports guests 3,000 feet above Lake Tahoe to the Mid-Station Observation Deck, where you can enjoy stunning views of Lake Tahoe, the Desolation Wilderness, and the Carson Valley. At the top of the Gondola, challenge yourself on the 25-foot climbing wall, designed for beginner to advanced climbers or kids can play in a safe environment on the Spider Zone climbing tower. Enjoy varied hiking trails of green and blue levels then stop by Tamarack Lodge for lunch and drinks.
Operating times will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check in with Ridge Tahoe front desk staff regarding shuttle service to and from the Gondola.
Holiday weekend entertainment at South Shore includes Jefferson Starship at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Sisqo, Vanilla Ice and Naughty by Nature at PEEK Nightclub, the retro-themed Boogie Nights dance party at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa, and live comedy at The Improv inside Harveys Lake Tahoe.
