Venture to the Sierra for two or three days for mountain adventure and deep relaxation with a Mother’s Day stay at The Ridge Tahoe.
Let Mom call the shots for the weekend, first with the choice of accommodations –she can choose a deluxe hotel room or one or two bedroom condominium suite. Then give her some room to get outside, taking in a day of hiking, biking, golfing or boating and then relaxation time at the Ridge Tahoe’s Elevation Spa where she can pamper herself, rejuvenate, and unwind through the journey of body work. Elevation Spa offers treatments and services for health, beauty and total well-being.
Let Mom enjoy Mother’s Day with a treatment at the Elevation Spa.
On Mother’s Day the Ridge’s own Hungry Bear Restaurant will host a Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Hungry Bear offers several menu items, including a children’s menu, in true Sierra cuisine style and prepared perfectly with locally-fresh ingredients.
For Mother’s Day brunch the Hungry Bear offers: a first course of warm cheese blintz with berry compote; a second course choice of herb crusted Alaskan halibut with sweet potato and grilled langoustine hash, spring peas with citrus jus; or the Ridge crab cake benedict, featuring poached eggs with house made crab cakes on an Indian flat bread and topped with citrus hollandaise and served with cottage potatoes; third and fourth course choices include New York steak and eggs, served with cottage potatoes and slow roasted prime rib, with twice baked potato cake, asparagus, with au jus and creamy horseradish. Dessert is a buffet of heavenly sweets. We’re full just thinking about it.
Get on the water for Mother’s Day. The Tahoe Queen offers a brunch cruise leaving the Ski Run Marina at 11 a.m. and returning at 1 p.m.
How will you celebrate your mom in Tahoe South?
There’s a 45,000 square-foot clubhouse with an indoor sports complex, full spa, heated swimming pool, hot tubs, indoor basketball courts, outdoor tennis courts and athletic instructors. Unique to the resort is its many organized activities designed to provide something for everyone. If you prefer racquet sports, there are indoor tennis and racquetball courts inside and three outside tennis courts. You can even sign up for onsite tennis lessons to add some spin to your game.
The netted driving range is just one of many on-site activities to enjoy at The Ridge Tahoe.
Looking for some relaxation? Check out Elevation Spa for a full range of facial treatments, body treatment and massage treatments offered by experienced and professional onsite therapists.
The Ridge Tahoe is known as a family-friendly resort where kids, parents and grandparents will find plenty of indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities. Kids who grew up on vacation at The Ridge are now bringing their own children every year to enjoy the resort, its 30-seat movie theater, kids’ arts and crafts center, games, arcades and in summer months miniature golf, putting green and playground. Traditions and memories are built here with members returning to create more.
Ridge Tahoe guests who love golf, have plenty of opportunities to warm up their game at the resort and then take in full rounds at any number of Tahoe South area golf courses. Woods and irons are encouraged at the Ridge Tahoe’s outdoor driving range. Meshed nets allow golfers to cut loose and give it all they’ve got. This full swing range gives golfers the chance to hone their technique and find that precious sweet spot.
Once the muscles are loosened, golfers can head over to the on-site miniature golf course putting greens. Gentle sloped greens give way to numerous breaks, giving putters ample opportunities to give their short game the finishing touches they need before heading out.
When it comes to dining, while most units include kitchens, for a convenient night out at the resort there’s the Hungry Bear Restaurant, Ridge Club Deli and the Bear Trap Lounge. The Hungry Bear offers seasonal menus with true Sierra cuisine – simple food prepared perfectly with locally-fresh ingredients to complement the resort’s peaceful and homey vibe.
Many chef’s keep their cooking traditions a secret. Not Ridge Tahoe Chef Stephen Moise. Part demonstration, part cooking lesson, Ridge Tahoe guests are invited to sit in with him and the staff every Tuesday from 4 – 9 p.m. to learn how to prepare a three-course meal.
Other activities and offerings onsite include:
- Wine tasting classes.
- Turn your luck into a sure bet with classes in the art (and science?) of casino craps.
- Arts, crafts and glass painting
- Group trail hikes in and around the Ridge Tahoe. (In winter there’s weekly organized snowshoe hikes.)
